RemitBee helps entrepreneurs fund one startup at a time

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, April 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — RemitBee, the financial empowerment fund of an online money transfer and currency exchange startup, is currently accepting applications for new businesses.

The Financial Empowerment Fund was created to support fintech entrepreneurs and startups that empower people financially through their products or services. Essentially, the investments will be made as an extension of Remitbee’s vision and mission. Through the investment fund, RemitBee seeks to improve the insufficient access to resources, financial exclusivity and lack of technological infrastructure in the world.

“There are thousands of entrepreneurs and startups around the world who are ignored by traditional venture capital funds. Often these startups create a significant impact in their local community and lack the means to grow. We provide these companies with the technical knowledge as well as financial support to deliver maximum value,” said RemitBee CEO and Co-Founder Yogi Yoganathan. “Our mission is to make a difference. Whether through RemitBee or through the Financial Empowerment Fund, we can help individuals and now businesses lead change in their lives and communities. I can’t be more excited about it.”

The company recently made its first investment with Sri Lanka-based FinTech platform Moneta. He made this investment during a period of great economic uncertainty in the country where inflation is at record highs. Moneta is building a modern credit infrastructure to help undervalued Sri Lankans access credit facilities using alternative credit scoring methods.

Startups can apply for investment through the Financial Empowerment Fund directly on the RemitBee website. The Simple Application consists of nine questions for the Fund team to review and then move on to the next step in the funding process.
